When Áine McGarry first decided to rent her thatched cottage out on Airbnb, she was trying to help raise funds to cover the €11,000 she was quoted to repair the place. Ms McGarry bought Trohanny Cottage in Kells, Co Meath, in 2000 and worked tirelessly to transform the derelict building into one of the county’s most-visited properties.
