I once attended a group family therapy session over a period of months. People talked about their family issues and the outcome seemed to be that everyone became ever more depressed, going over the same repetitive ground. I came to wonder if “talk therapy” is always effective for dealing with anxieties, addictions and negative experiences. Perhaps focusing on your miseries only reinforces them.
