Fears have been raised that a litre of petrol and diesel is headed back to levels not seen for more than a year. A combination of surge crude oil prices and a weak euro relative to the dollar are driving up the cost of motor fuels and the cost of home-heating oil, just at the time when households are ordering heating oil.
